Chief Estimator

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Chief Estimator to join our dynamic team. This is a new position designed to build out our estimating capabilities. As the Chief Estimator, you will play a critical role in overseeing all estimating activities, ensuring accurate and competitive project bids. You will be responsible for managing bid processes and contributing to the overall success of our projects by delivering precise and reliable cost estimates.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare accurate and competitive project bids for commercial and residential projects.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for all paver and pool construction projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop comprehensive estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates.
• Analyze and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure compliance with project specifications and budget.
• Negotiate with subcontractors to ensure favorable terms.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry professionals.
• Monitor and update estimating databases to reflect current material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Present and explain estimates to senior management and clients as required.
• Ensure that all estimates comply with company standards and client expectations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve the estimating process.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience in Construction estimating, with a focus on paver and construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards, including steel, rebar, concrete, and gunite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Blue Beam or similar.
• Experience in hardscaping estimation.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
