Summary

The Teen Coordinator will engage and inspire teen members to learn and grow to be responsible adults. This will be done through planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating activities conducted within the Teen program. Programs such as Keystone, Torch Club, Youth of the Year, Art, STEAM, Money Matters, and Triple Play are provided to engage and educate teen members on Good Character and Leadership, Academic Success, and Healthy Lifestyles. Preparing teens for on-time grade promotions by implementing educational activities that are inclusive and engaging is essential.

Duties

Under supervision of the Unit Director,
-Ensure implementation of national programs, services and activities that prepare teen members for success in all areas, including on-time graduation, healthy lifestyles, and service to the community
-Ensure quality improvement by monitoring programs implemented within the program, recommending modifications that meet the needs of the members
-Create, foster, and maintain a respectful and inclusive environment with expectations that promote the culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
-Recruit and orient new members to the teen programs, special events, and other opportunities; informing of club safety, program rules, and disciplinary policies
-Promote daily attendance in the program as well as special events
-Provide support to the club in data entry of member files, daily attendance, and programming participation, generating monthly reports for grant requirements
-Create and maintain relationships with member families, consult parent/guardians with concerning member issues, or disciplinary actions
-Conduct effective community outreach to create and maintain partnerships within the local community to maximize opportunities for teen members; to include strategic partnerships with schools and local governments
-Compile local resources, information, and data to address current and future trends affecting teens, ensuring that needs are being met by the program
-Participate in administrative activities; staff meetings, trainings, etc.
-Facility management; maintaining a clean and safe environment, proper routing of work orders
-Occasional travel between clubs, or special event sites
-Other duties assigned

Requirements

-High School Diploma, or GED
-Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks and develop solutions to processes
-Knowledge and experience in youth development
-Continually seeks to improve work processes, and products and services
-Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments; be effective in an environment with varying levels of noise throughout the day
-High ethical standards
-Strong communication skills; written and oral
-Ability to maintain both visual and auditory supervision or youth members
-Background Check/Fingerprinting for VA and TN
-CPR/First Aid Certifications, will provide training
-Valid State Driver's License
-Pass a Drug Test

Nice To Haves

At least three years of experience working with youth.
