The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the management, development and quality of  the organization. Supervise associated staff and oversee incident management, quality assurance and clinical education. Ensures proper adherence to policies and state regulations; professional standards, program development and accreditation standards. Evaluate and develop program policies to provide quality services promoting a culture of safety for our individuals and employees. Work with trainers and training protocols throughout the organization to institute consistent practices and continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, recommend and maintain the clinical structure necessary to ensure that adequate clinical supports are provided to individuals served. Provide for effective recruitment, selection and direction of staff; set performance standards, check progress, provide feedback and evaluate performance of assigned employees. Monitor compliance of staff credentialing. Develop pipeline of internship candidates and provide supervision for licensure hours.
  • Provide for staff development and trainings and monitors the compliance of staff credentialing. Provide support and consultation to other designated staff and report to the COO, Executive Director and Division Heads on clinical needs within the divisions.
  • Create processes to gather and analyze metrics from various systems such as state reporting, client information and others. Track and report metrics to meet measurable outcomes. Working with administration and program leadership, design and implement modifications/strategies to meet the changing clinical needs of individuals served. Analyze data from assessments to evaluate agency programs, areas of improvement, and consumer progress.
  • Develop and implement organization wide clinical policies and procedures. Working with clinical department and leaders to document and follow the processes. Establish protocols, committees and systems to ensure that Quality Assurance and Clinical standards are followed/met and in compliance with State and Federal regulations. Monitor external environment to anticipate changing trends in standards.
  • Provide consultation to managers regarding further clinical education including in-service and identification of formal educational opportunities. Advise Division Heads on development of managers’ clinical skills. Conduct applicable clinical trainings for indicated staff.
  • Gather appropriate clinical background information for all individuals receiving support services per outlined caseloads. Responsible to participate in the referral process. Ensure best practices to safeguard and maintain confidentiality of sensitive records/data.
  • Provide high quality clinical services including crisis evaluations and interventions to ensure appropriate services while maintaining the health and safety of individuals served and staff. Develop, provide or ensure that staff persons receive training on clinical issues identified. Conduct clinical trainings.
  • With clinical team members, meet with direct support staff at assigned sites on a regular basis, and additional sites as needed, to discuss clinical issues of individuals supported at the respective sites. Meet with members of contracted support services (such as care providers) as needed.
  • Develop behavior treatment plans for assigned case load of individuals in accordance with regulatory standards. Oversee completion of medication treatment plans and forms required by regulation.
  • Ensure consistent safety culture throughout the division emphasizing team and individual responsibilities. Ensure the work procedures meet safety program objectives. Work with the Executive Team to develop and enact safety policies to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain BCBA certification and obtain/maintain State Licensure as legislation is developed.
  • Administer approved budget. Prepare budget and monitor expenditures.
  • Work on projects as a cross functional team leader or project member.
  • Perform other similar duties as responsibilities necessitate or as requested by supervisor.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of an advanced and highly specialized discipline; behavioral health, requiring independent research and creative work involving highly advanced theoretical knowledge within a specialized field. Master’s Degree with current BCBA Certification.
  • Current LABA Certification.
  • Over 5 years of progressive learning experience including management and at least 3 years of supervisory experience as a clinician.
  • Solid analytical skills and ability to exercise sound judgement when making decisions.
  • Computer skills in data management such as iCentrix and HCSIS. Working knowledge of Microsoft suite.
  • Solid familiarity with applicable federal and state rules and regulations; knowledge of rules and regulations governing human services.
  • Detailed knowledge of regulations in the clinical field; Knowledge of industry best practices and standards of operation.
  • Experience in process improvements, organizational reporting and data outcomes management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation/vehicle required.
