We are a small solo practice law firm seeking an Immigration Paralegal or experienced Legal Assistant to become a part of our team You will provide overall support to attorneys' business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research to support legal proceedings in immigration and criminal law
  • Manage caseload of cases from intake to resolution
  • Assist with the drafting, gathering and reviewing of legal documents
  • File legal documents, including but not limited to motions, applications and bond requests
  • Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
  • Follow-up with clients
  • Record and store client information
  • Assist with criminal law caseload
  • Answer incoming calls
  • Set up attorney consultations
  • Manage attorney's calendar
  • Prepare contracts and secure collection of attorney fees

​Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in immigration law, with a focus on deportation and family based immigration
  • Strong understanding of immigration law, regulations, legal procedures
  • Familiarity with immigration court practices, EOIR Procedures, and immigration forms
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory
  • Compensation will be based on candidates experience
