JOB SUMMARY:

The staff pediatrician provides medical services to the patients of Lamoille Health Partners in primary and acute care in a clinical practice setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary.)

1. Completes patient history and physical.

2. Documents all patient care provided according to policy.

3. Formulates and directs plan of care for the patient.

4. Refers to other physicians, specialists as needed.

5. Prescribes medications in accordance with State and Federal Laws.

6. Complies with State Physician Guidelines/Law on Practicing Medicine.

7. Responds to medical emergencies.

8. Directs patient education for health education, maintenance, emotional and physical needs.

9. Participates and provides patient care for acute care services at the hospital.

10. Provides evening and weekend coverage for patients on a rotational basis coordinated by the

Medical Director.

11. Participates in Medical Staff activities at the hospital.

12. Participates in QA/QI/RM Program.

13. Attendance at HIPAA and Compliance educational programs is a requirement of employment.

14. Utilizes supplies in a cost-effective manner.

15. Demonstrates effective communication skills.

16. Establishes and maintains professional working relationship with other members of the health

care team.

17. Participates in planning and problem solving.

18. Participates in continuing education and professional growth.

19. Attends providers meetings.

20. Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, personnel and medical, policies and procedures.

21. Assists other team members.

22. Assists with seasonal programs as needed.

23. Serves as a role model for clinical staff.

24. Adheres to the standards and policies of the Organizational Privacy/Security and Compliance

Programs, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations (HIPAA.

OSHA, OIG, guidelines, other State and Federal laws). This also includes reporting to the

Board of Directors, Compliance Officer, Privacy Officer, supervisor, suggestion box, any

suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices.

25. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: (Minimum education, experience, technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position.)

1. Must hold a diploma from a school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or an osteopathic medical school by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and have completed not less than 12 months of graduate medical education or its equivalent or holds certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and has successfully completed not less than 12 months of graduate medical education through the first year level of graduate medical education or its equivalent or if the applicant is a qualified graduate of a fifth pathway training program and has successfully completed not less than 12 months of graduate medical education or its equivalent subsequent to completing fifth pathway training.

2. Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Practice.
