Position Overview: Are you a seasoned leader with a passion for overseeing construction projects from inception to completion? As our Site Superintendent within the HouseSmart construction division, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of multiple concurrent on-site projects. Join our team and lead the charge in delivering high-quality construction projects that exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Assist the Project Manager in coordinating multiple concurrent on-site construction projects within a defined customer base, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • On-Site Oversight: Oversee and coordinate all activities at construction sites according to project drawings, plans and schedules, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including HouseSmart Construction trades, third-party contractors, utilities, and state inspectors, to support a turnkey project management solution.
  • Schedule Management: Schedule and coordinate work with resources, including HouseSmart resources and third-party contractors, to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor construction progress daily, conducting final inspections to verify work quality and compliance with project specifications.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Risk Mitigation: Manage project risks and issues by facilitating communication with the Project Manager and stakeholders, implementing strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete field reports during key project milestones, maintaining accurate records of project activities and submitting reports for review.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate regularly with customers and the sales team, providing updates on project status and addressing any concerns to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in land development, civil engineering, or construction management.
  • Ability to support complex projects over multiple locations, demonstrating strong project coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of land development principles, including basic soils science, surveying, estimating, and grading, is preferred.
  • Ability to problem-solve complex projects involving changing dynamics and unforeseen challenges.
  • Proficiency in project management software, with the ability to learn and utilize new tools as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated strict attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and software platforms.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the defined geographic territory of operation, including occasional overnight travel.

Physical Requirements:

This position primarily operates in a manufactured home construction environment, supporting the Project Manager and Retail Home Center in providing customers with fully installed homes on raw land sites. The role may involve working in outdoor weather conditions, lifting and moving objects weighing more than 25 pounds, and occasional exposure to heavy machinery, wet/humid conditions, extreme heat/cold, and environments requiring personal protective equipment (PPE) for safety.
