Zenith Aviation, a leader in field of Aerospace Logistics, is seeking to hire a Buyer for their Fredericksburg, VA location.

The candidate will be responsible for conducting moderate to complex procurement actions in accordance with FAR, DFAR, company policies and CPSR requirements.

The individual should be able to analyze purchase requisitions; initiate RFQs/RFPs; review bids; negotiate terms & conditions, and pricing of materials to be procured, and select suppliers in accordance with government law and corporate policy.

Duties:

• Procure materials of a complex nature based on program-specific requirements and specifications.
• Develops purchase orders in accordance with technical specifications, requirements, work statements and terms and conditions.
• Executing sourcing strategies following FAR, DFAR, and CPSR requirements.
• Manage suppliers through all phases of purchase life cycle, promptly responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and participating in fact finding and technical evaluations.
• Participates in pricing negotiation to ensure best value and is responsible for procurement Compliance and Cost/Price Analysis.
• Negotiate specific terms and conditions including price, delivery, quality, and performance requirements.
• Creates purchase files for review; prepares, awards, and administers resulting purchase orders.
• Negotiates all modifications to purchase orders.
• Follows and executes established and approved procurement policies and procedures to provide the best value consistent with quality requirements while maintaining good supplier relations.
• Retain historical information and compliant file documentation.
• Deliver quality customer service and maintain good supplier relationships.
• Ability to multi-task is essential; must be able to assess, prioritize, drive issues to closure and be assertive when required, and be able to exercise discretion in the performance of duties.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3 years of purchasing experience. Prior experience in support of a Federal prime contract is preferred.
• SAP experience is a huge plus
• Have a working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and standard commercial procurement practices.
• Experience buying across various commodities.
• Must exercise good judgment in safeguarding confidential or sensitive information and adhere to high standards of confidentiality and honesty.
