Position Requirements:

· Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Need good driving skills.

Picking up samples at 6 to 10 locations a day

Driver & Steel sample prep

· Must be insurable per company standards for use of company transportation

· Basic understanding of types of flat roll steel within 12 months of hire

· Ability to use measurement tools

· Ability to work around moving machines

· Ability to stand for long periods of time

· Must be well spoken and able to work with all departments to implement change

· Must have legible writing for sample identifications

· Must be organized and capable of retaining records

· Must have basic math skill level

 

Job Duties Include, but not limited to:

· Effectively and efficiently perform all sample prep for testing required

· Check weigh station for sample every morning as soon as he/she punches in

· Use of micrometer, calipers and tape measures as needed

· Maintain clean and safe work environment while performing daily tasks

· Safe and efficient collection of samples from internal/external sources when necessary

· Learning & knowing where to pick up & deliver samples

· Able to write up all incoming samples, noting any & all sample conditions

· Operating: Shear, CNC Mill, Sander and the supporting tools for said equipment

· Notify Lab Supervisor of any & all potential problems w/ prep equipment that might need attention and/or repairs

· Shear Preventative maintenance

· CNC Mill preventative maintenance

· Lab Vehicle preventative maintenance & upkeep (Clean inside & out)

· Maintain lab vehicle gas receipts for Lab Supervisor to turn in

· Able to operate equipment for cutting of samples internally with tools provided

· Able to maintain sample status within MIS and any other designated method

· Able to assist with basic machine maintenance of sample prep equipment

· Any assignment given by lab supervisor

· Weekly Housekeeping:

· Empty garbage’s every Friday

· Vacuum all rugs every Friday

· Mop lab floor as needed

· Keep prep area clean:

· Floors swept; machines wiped down weekly

· Scrap box behind shear cleaned out of all potentially dangerous debris

· Emptying all scrap containers in lab as needed
