Purchasing Agent - Beauty Industry

As we expand we are seeking a detailed oriented Retail Purchasing Associate.
 

Summary
As a Purchasing Agent in the beauty industry, you will play a critical role in sourcing and
procuring high-quality beauty products from suppliers to ensure that the companys
inventory meets demand and maintains competitive pricing. You will be responsible for
negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and monitoring market trends to
identify new product opportunities. Your expertise in supply chain management and
product sourcing will contribute to the success and growth of the company.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Supplier Management
 Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of beauty products, including cosmetics,
skincare, haircare, and fragrance.
 Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts, including pricing, payment terms, and
delivery schedules.
 Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and seek out new suppliers to
expand product offerings and improve competitiveness.

2. Product Sourcing
 Research market trends and consumer preferences to identify new product
opportunities.
 Source innovative and high-quality beauty products that align with the companys
brand and target market.
 Conduct product evaluations and quality assessments to ensure compliance with
industry standards and regulatory requirements.

3. Inventory Management
 Work closely with inventory management teams to forecast demand and maintain
optimal inventory levels.
 Place purchase orders with suppliers and monitor order status to ensure timely
delivery.

 Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to manage inbound shipments
and resolve any issues related to inventory receipt and storage.

4. Cost Management
 Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to negotiate favorable terms and
achieve cost savings.
 Implement cost-effective sourcing strategies while maintaining product quality
and availability.
 Monitor and report on key performance indicators, such as purchase price
variance and cost of goods sold.

5. Supplier Performance Evaluation
 Monitor supplier performance against key metrics, such as on-time delivery,
quality, and responsiveness.
 Address any issues or concerns with suppliers promptly and implement
corrective actions as needed.
 Conduct periodic supplier reviews and performance evaluations to drive
continuous improvement and maintain supplier accountability.

6. Documentation and Compliance
 Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier
communications.
 Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including product safety
standards, import/export regulations, and intellectual property rights.
 Work closely with legal and compliance teams to address any contractual or
regulatory issues that may arise.

Qualifications

 Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a
related field.
 Previous experience in procurement, sourcing, or purchasing, preferably in the
beauty or cosmetics industry.

 Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships
with suppliers.
 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
 Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
 Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
environment.

 

Schedule 
Full Time Position: Monday to Friday with weekend availability as needed

Compensation and Benefits: 
Salary: $36,000.00
