Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout Us: SEMCO Construction is a dynamic force in the construction industry, committed to delivering excellence in every project. We are currently on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Construction Estimator.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in project setup, document uploads, and data maintenance in Building Connected.
- Collaborate in creating and publishing bid lists for subcontractors on each project.
- bids and qualified subcontractors.
- Conduct calls to subcontractors, tracking bid responses.
- Organize and manage bid documents, including Proposals, Plans, Specs, Bid Forms, Addendums, RFIs, and Bid Date Changes.
- Maintain the Bid Activity Log.
- Oversee the Subcontractor Log.
- Assist in managing the Budget Estimating Data Log.
- Interpret plans to construct scope sheets and bid packages for trades.
- Monitor trade questions on bids, facilitating answers or issuing pre-bid RFI’s for clarifications during the bid process.
- Perform quantity take-offs.
- Assist in compiling bid proposals and precon proposals.
- Handle phone inquiries.
- Possess familiarity with commercial construction procedures and trades.
- Cultivate and sustain positive relationships with subcontractors/clients.
- Attend trade functions and after-hours work events for business development and relationship-building purposes (as needed).
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Strong computer skills.
- Exceptional professional communication skills both in person and over the phone.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Sage Construction Estimating is advantageous
- Exposure to estimating software is beneficial.
- Previous experience in estimating is a plus.
