Job DescriptionJob Description

Responsibilities:

1.       Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management and project teams.

2.       Cost Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and analyze variances to ensure projects are completed within budget constraints. Provide recommendations to optimize cost efficiencies and mitigate financial risks.

3.       Project Accounting: Maintain project-specific accounting records, including job costing, revenue recognition, and progress billing. Collaborate with project managers to review project performance and address financial discrepancies.

4.       Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll activities, including timekeeping, payroll processing, and tax compliance, to ensure accurate and timely payment of employees and subcontractors.

5.       Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including vendor invoicing, payment processing, and collections, to maintain positive vendor relationships and optimize cash flow.

6.       Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.

7.       Software Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks, to efficiently manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and generate reports to support decision-making processes.

 

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.

2. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and industry-specific software preferred.

3. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

6. Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements, including GAAP and construction industry regulations.

7. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and exercise discretion in handling financial matters.

8. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement process improvement.
