Position Summary:
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for assisting with strategic sourcing activities including dual sourcing, cost reduction, inventory management, and supplier performance management. The role will also prioritize and coordinate the procurement activities for all junior buyers and temporary sourcing contractors. This position will report directly to the Strategic Sourcing Manager.

Typical Duties/Essential Job Functions:
•    Support strategies for supplier demand forecasting, capacity planning, inventory management and replenishment.
•    Identify new and current key suppliers to include dual sourcing opportunities for critical long lead-time parts.
•    Issue purchase orders for assigned products and services, negotiate pricing and ensure supplier compliance, especially delivery dates and quantity/quality; resolve invoice discrepancies.
•    Manage supplier performance. Ensure suppliers are performing at an acceptable level and and participate in Supplier Team Audits and site visits.
•    Build and maintain supplier relationships to secure the best price, service, quality and delivery.
•    Monitor on-going vendor quality, price, delivery performance and assist with development and implementation of a supplier Score Card in Epicor ERP.
•    Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to minimize costs while ensuring a high level of service; proactively avoid material shortages.
•    Facilitate the proactive and timely flow of information between the supply base and key internal customers.
•    Ability to read and interpret drawings. Be able to discuss technical requirements with suppliers such as dimensions, tolerances, finishes and other aspects of manufacturing.
•    Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance opportunities. Participate in cost reduction projects.
•    Work closely with Supplier Quality to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action to minimize impact on production.
•    Protect our value by keeping information confidential.
•    Actively challenge existing processes to drive simplification and improvement. Become the EPICOR Sourcing Subject Matter Expert for solutions.
•    Perform cross-functional ad hoc analysis and lead special projects as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist with supervising, coaching and educating Buyers and Contractors.
Requirements:

Education and Experience Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or other related discipline required.
•    3-5 years’ experience in purchasing/procurement in a manufacturing environment is desired.
•    Experience working with an ERP system, Epicore is a plus.
•    Experience in Miscrosoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and Outlook).
