Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Machining Estimator is responsible for estimating the labor, outside services and lead time to manufacture precision machined components and assemblies based on print requirements. This individual will work as a conduit of information from our shop to the customer. The Machining Estimator will review prints in detail to predict any issues related to machining and processing the product per print and offer solutions to customers to improve machineability or reduce cost where applicable.

Top 5 DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.\tAnalyzing blueprints and other related documents to determine the requirements and alert Engineering Manager to any issues.
2.\tPrepare quotations by analyzing labor, material and outside service costs required to manufacture.
3.\tMaintain contact and relationships with customers and vendors.
4. Communicate customer requirements with the Engineering Manager and Shop Supervisor.
5. Resolve discrepancies and missing information by working with customers and vendors.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• 5-10 years of experience in estimating in a machining environment.
• Manufacturing work scope, tools and equipment requirements
• Reading and interpreting detail drawings, technical specifications, and production
orders
• Estimating various costs: raw material, outside service, subcontractor and
freight costs
