FUNCTIONAL ROLE:

The Sales Representative (Sales Rep) is responsible for securing new customer accounts for Select Drink, Inc’s products and services. The company has an aggressive growth plan and the Sales Representative position is dedicated to the pursuit of this goal. The Sales Rep will conduct a structured approach to territory sales management which includes: initiating and tracking contacts; logging high probability leads in a Pipeline report with follow-up activity to develop the business relationship; listing bids in a Bid Log report, measuring win rates and closing deals to secure the assigned territory sales quota. The Sales Rep will report these activities weekly in Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), attend the sales management meeting to discuss these metrics and planned corrective action for any unfavorable results. The Sales Rep is expected to be expert in Select Drink’s product and service offerings and communicate this expertise in all customer interactions. Additionally, the Sales Rep is expected to maintain relations and support functions with current Select Drink customers in their territory. The individual will contribute to a positive team atmosphere and follow all company policies and guidelines in dealing with customers and company staff. The Sales Rep spends more than 60% of their time in the field securing contacts, leads or closing new accounts. The Sales Rep will participate in a Sales Commission Plan as defined in the Sales Incentive Commission Plan: Sales Representatives for Select Drink dated December 7, 2022.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain expert knowledge on Select Drink product and service offerings. Keep current on marketing materials, maintain effective presentations of features and benefits, and stay advised of List Price updates.

· Initiate the required weekly Contact interactions and report performance metrics.

· Filter Contact interactions yielding the required weekly Pipeline entries of high probability leads and report performance metrics.

· Generate bid proposals with analysis of estimated annual volume, delivery schedule required, average ticket, anticipated gross profit and standard payment terms.

· Log bid proposals in the Bid Log Summary report and keep a running total of open proposals, awarded business, and calculate win rates of dollars and proposals. Report performance metrics.

· Plan, schedule and complete travel as needed, within the assigned territory, to achieve the assigned Sales Quota for New Customer sales.

· Determine who the decision makers will be, motivation for pursuing Select Drink, and level of business involved. Diligent efforts are required to make personal contacts with senior management to ensure our time and efforts to secure business will yield the expected win rate percentages.

· Attend the Weekly Sales Management Meeting, prepared to discuss performance metrics, explain any unfavorable results, and present a current Pipeline and Bid Log report.

· Support Select Drink current customer accounts when requested by senior management. These accounts might be assigned to other Sales Reps or territories, but require immediate attention due to unforeseen circumstances.

· Manage Chain Accounts as assigned by Select Drink, initiating quarterly contact at a senior level to gauge customer satisfaction and threatening competitor activity.

· Prepare and maintain a territory sales strategy with potential targets. These targets may come from a number of sources including: Google Searches, mapping queries, radio ads, television ads, internet requests to Select Drink sites, and other strategies the Sales Rep may develop to uncover potential customers.

· Promote, by demonstration, the professional and personal integrity of the corporate philosophy of Select Drink, Inc.

· Maintain a professional appearance, dressing appropriately for the business setting. Business casual is expected unless mitigating circumstances dictate otherwise, e.g. service or delivery work is required.

· Accurately track business expenses and submit expense reports as required.

· Participate as a company representative at trade shows or industry affiliated events as deemed necessary to achieve assigned growth targets.

 

SKILLS:

  • Detailed knowledge of the drink, beverage and concession business.
  • Ability to communicate with and understand the detailed needs of retail, restaurant, bar and concessions customers.
  • Ability to use Word, Excel and Power Point to prepare presentations, proposals and financial analysis of volumes proposed.
  • Ability to maintain database spreadsheets for Bid Logs, Pipeline of active leads and prospective contact lists.

 

QUALIFICATION:

· Valid Missouri or Illinois drivers’ license; subject to insurance approval.

· Demonstrated experience managing a sales territory and sales quota.

 

WORK CONDITIONS:

· The Sales Rep works both indoors and out, moving about the warehouse, office, showroom, and customer locations. Communicates with office and other sales personnel, and customers. Weekend, evening, and holiday hours may be required to achieve access to the targeted customer.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

· Education:

o Required: High School Diploma.

o Preferred: Associate or Bachelor Degree, either marketing or business or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience:

Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in territory sales management, selling consumer goods or similar consumer products.

Physical:

Body Positions: Sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.

Body Movements: Turning head and torso, bending and flexing arms, wrists, and fingers, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms and lift or move 50 lbs.

Body senses: Must be able to see and hear, have full power of speech as well as communicate on the phone with customers and associates. Must be able to see to read correspondence and related material and reports and have specific vision. This includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Mental:

Language: Must be fluent in English and able to read and prepare reports, generate computer reports, and communicate effectively.

Mathematics: Must be able to complete routine arithmetic computations.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Performance metrics for this position are:

1. Achieve annual Sales Quota of $385,811 from New Customer Accounts.

2. Achieve Weekly Contacts of 50 interactions, and report actual metric to KPI Assembler.

3. Achieve Weekly Pipeline entries of 5 high probability new customers, and report actual metric to KPI Assembler.

4. Achieve Weekly Bid Proposal submissions of 2 new customers, and report actual metric to KPI Assembler.

5. Attend Weekly Sales Management Meeting, keep Pipeline and Bid Log reports up-to-date and report on any unfavorable variances to target metrics.
