Description
We are currently working with both single and HA SQL Server instances with data pulled from our ERP, CRM, vendor data, etc., for reporting and intranet-based tools. Though we would like to upgrade to a hybrid solution with Azure, we continue to have a need for proficient SQL programmers skilled enough to monitor and maintain the data warehouses and databases. This includes assistance with backups, EDI/ETL process, report writing, analysis services management and BI support.
The company will continue to use its home-grown intranet that will tie in with the ERP system so we are looking for someone who not only can assist with some of the more foundational SQL DBA duties like backup review, job maintenance and troubleshooting performance, but also someone who enjoys diving into the coding side to help out with webdev or help the webdevs produce more efficiently. We are a small team supporting 100+ employees across multiple sister companies so there may be a few instances where basic technical support is requested of you.
We are also experimenting with on prem LLM SQL and report generation with python and “smart” (?) RAG.
What would make you stand out:
- 5+ years SQL, preferably TSQL and SSMS environment
- 3+ years of experience with NetSuite, Sage500 or similar enterprise ERP system
- Fluency in SQL, saved searches, reports, dashboards, etc.
- Experience with a shipping company with an understanding of basic flow from item creation, purchasing, sales, pick/pack/ship etc.
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Able to understand big picture goals and translate with attention to detail
- Know how to read code even if limited comments
- Familiar with high availability clustering
- An organized and creative self-starter
- Degree preferred but not required
