Position Summary:

To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform essential job duties with minimal supervision. Must be able to work on shop floor performing Quality Control Inspections designed to ensure quality production of products and services consistent with established standards.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities are essential. Other duties may be assigned and/or applied:

  • Maintain Quality Assurance objectives in accordance with the organizations policies and goals.
  • Provide all data obtained during Quality Assurance activities/inspections to Quality Control Manager in accordance with the Company’s Quality Program.
  • Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during Quality Control activities/inspections and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Play an active role on Quality Control team within the organization.
  • Assist with the development of Quality Standards for the Production process.
  • Work with the Engineering department to ensure any design modifications, occurring during production, are translated to updated drawings.
  • Provide inspection activities throughout the production cycle.

Skills:

 

  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings.
  • Must be knowledgeable in proper measuring of a multitude of materials using standard measuring devices
  • Must be able to perform visual inspection on welded joints for visual defects and correct dimensions applying knowledge of welding principals and metallurgical properties
  • Must have a working knowledge of Bill of Materials
  • Complies with all Quality and Safety policies, regulations and instructions
  • Problem solving / reasoning ability, using logical step-by-step procedures to complete tasks.
  • Must have interpersonal skills.
  • General knowledge for the use of general construction, measuring tools and mechanics.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three (3) years prior experience and/or related experience.

 

Language Ability:

  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • Communicate and understand job instructions, both verbally and written.

 

Math Ability:

  • Basic mathematical computation ability (fractions, percentages, ratios, etc.).

 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical and/or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:

This job does require computer skills.

  • Microsoft office
  • QuickBooks

 

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid and current drivers’ license
  • Forklift
  • Safety Council, as applicable
