Funeral Director Embalmer

Join a team of experienced funeral professionals at a family-owned funeral home with 3 locations in Minnesota located in the beautiful Minnesota River Valley. Kolden Funeral Homes in Belle Plaine, Lesueur and Arlington have an immediate opening for a full time Minnesota licensed funeral director.

Individual must be a self-motivated person, able to think independently and contribute as a part a team. Must be able to perform all aspects of the industry as it relates to services, arrangements, embalming, cosmetizing, valid driver’s license and all coordination related to funeral service. Having knowledge of the prep room and preparing bodies is also important and we take that task very seriously. The ability to lift, move, and transfer deceased human bodies with care out of what can sometimes be challenging environments. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively work with grieving families, community leaders and fellow co-workers. Must be highly organized and have excellent documentation skills. Applicant must have the ability to prioritize, multitask and problem solve in a sometimes fast paced setting. When not busy with funeral work, individual carries out other projects and duties as assigned (i.e., car washing, building and equipment maintenance, pre-need arrangement planning.

This position comes with competitive compensation based on experience, with a flexible schedule (3-person rotation) consisting of two nights a week and every third weekend on call, paid vacation, 401K with company match plan, and health insurance. Salary for this position is negotiable and based on experience, with opportunities to make extra money if interested.
