We are seeking a Legal Assistant to become a part of our team You will provide overall support to attorneys.

Responsible for assisting in all areas of workers compensation cases. Job duties include preparation and issuance of workers’ compensation and civil litigation records subpoenas. Following up with providers regarding status of compliance with records and billing subpoenas/orders. Communicating with medical providers for billing and records. Preparing motions and other documents for Efiling with the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission via Compfile. Preparation of status call sheets for attorneys. Docketing into firm’s legal case management software. Scheduling depositions (including preparation of notices to all parties with follow-up confirmations). Review of medical records received to ensure compliance with subpoenas. Open/close files. Communicating with clients to update case files and general office and reception back up.

Must have previous experience in the legal field. Detailed oriented, hardworking, reliable, self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize and multitask. Possess a great work ethic with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and Smart Advocate Legal Software a plus.
