Pressman Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Pressman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating printing presses and a strong understanding of print production processes.

Responsibilities
-Setup, Run and Maintain a commercial sheet-fed printing press.

-Be familiar with inks and aqueous coatings and procedures to follow when using.

-Read and follow instructions on job ticket, check to see if correct stock is being used, special inks and colors to produce job to customer expectations.

-Hang plates, check layout and imposition to assure the job can be finished and/or bound correctly.

- Set and hold ink and water balance using scanning densitometers to assist in quality control, must be able to achieve and hold color without densitometers if necessary.

-Monitor running job for imperfections, hickeys, dry-ups, misregister, color change, plate defects and blanket problems.

Requirements
- Must be mechanically inclined to make necessary repairs and adjustments as needed, set and change rollers, blankets, run feeder and delivery and perform necessary maintenance.

-Use various chemicals to clean press when needed and keep a neat and orderly workstation.

-Must be able to work with the 2nd Pressman as needed.

-Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be on your feet for an 8 hour shift.
