Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Environmental Field Scientist who is familiar with Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) regulations to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting field assessments, collecting environmental samples, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

DUTIES

  • Conduct environmental site assessments (Phase I and Phase II) in accordance with ASTM standards and IEPA regulations
  • Collect soil, groundwater, and surface water samples using appropriate sampling techniques and equipment
  • Perform field measurements and observations, including soil logging and groundwater level measurements
  • Perform regulated substance field monitoring in compliance with IDOT and IEPA standards
  • Assist with remediation activities, such as soil excavation and groundwater monitoring well installation
  • Prepare field reports documenting observations, sample collection methods, and field data
  • Stay current on IEPA regulations and guidelines relevant to environmental field work
  • Assist in laboratory performing ASTM and IEPA methodologies when needed.
  • Adhere to quality standards, safety protocols, and project objectives

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

· Bachelor’s degree or higher

· 2+ years of direct environmental field and/or laboratory experience

· Time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

· Strong Teamwork

· Comfortable working in field, lab and office settings
