Construction Inspector (Civil)

Job Summary

Nisqually Construction Services, LLC is a full-service Construction and Construction Management firm serving the greater Seattle area. As part of our team of construction management professionals, the Construction Inspector is responsible for providing QA inspection duties to include but not limited to: QA inspection of construction activities, testing coordination and oversight, RFI review input, project documentation and daily reporting, correspondence, and contractor coordination. Other duties may be assigned as directed by the Resident Engineer. This position reports to the Resident Engineer or designee as part of an integrated Construction Management consulting team.

We are seeking a Construction Inspector for a building tenant improvement contract at SeaTac International Airport.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Promote working safely by participating in regular safety meetings, discussing job safety routinely with co-workers to identify improvement opportunities, and personally adhering to all requirements.

2. Perform in-field inspections associated with the construction of roads, bridges, transit facilities or other infrastructure type projects.

3. Generate detailed inspection reports on assets inspected using Microsoft Word and include drawings, sketches, and photos when applicable.

4. Develop or participate in the development of repair scopes for deficiencies noted during the inspections.

5. Monitor/coordinate with 3rd party special inspection

6. Ensure compliance with the Contract drawings and specifications.

7. Assist with resolution of technical issues.

8. Coordinate resolution of technical issues between Engineer of Record, Contractor and Resident Engineer.

9. Reads and comprehends drawings, specifications and contractor shop drawings.

10. Maintain inspection records and photographs utilizing owner’s document database

11. Develop or participate in the development of repair scopes for deficiencies noted during the inspections.

 

Required Education and Experience:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience required.

2. Prior experience working on heavy civil infrastructure projects is required.

3. BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is desired but may be substituted for experience.

4. Knowledge of standard plans, specifications, procedures, and Construction Manual.

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

6. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.

7. Position requires candidate be pro-active and personable.

8. Ability to learn quickly and assist with applicable tasks.

9. Ability to work in a team environment.
