This position is responsible for operating several support functions associated with flight training activities including but not limited to aircraft dispatching, and other customer service activities. This position will coordinate dispatching activities with students, flight instructors, line service, and maintenance personnel. The applicant must be comfortable working in a diverse environment and must have a valid California Driver’s License. Should be able to work on weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience or training demonstrating the ability to use Excel, Word, Email, Google Docs, and similar applications to produce written correspondence, create spreadsheets, and manage e-mail and tasks.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, time-management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent customer service experience.

  • Ability to be a collaborative team member.

  • Ability to adapt to change and effectively handle stressful or adverse situations.

  • Ability to effectively organize multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

  • Experience demonstrating the ability to take initiative to accomplish tasks, independently prioritize work, pay attention to details, complete work in a timely manner, and adjust tasks as circumstances dictate.

 

Daily Tasks

  • Open and close the facilities to ensure all morning flights for the following day are checked out.

  • Dispatch and coordinate student flights with instructor and aircraft schedules.

  • Coordinates and debriefs pilots on aircraft discrepancies, assures proper documentation, and reports to maintenance technicians in an expedient manner.

  • Maintain current, accurate flight status information on the flight training software information board.

  • Dispatch and coordinate aircraft maintenance, fueling and cleaning.

  • Explaining the enrollment process and guiding customers on the flight training programs.

  • Making files for each student ensuring they have the proper documentation to start flight training.

  • Provide accurate data for flight training to check-in/out each aircraft ensuring proper billing for all flight training related invoices.

  • Process quarterly membership charges for all students and renters

  • Answer phones and provide a high level of customer service to all customers.

  • Process credit card charges and handle petty cash for the department.

  • Order office supplies for the entire office

  • Make sure ample photocopies are made for all training materials.

  • Give new students and potential students tours of the school.

  • Drive students to and from necessary appointments, pick up new students from the airport.

  • Other duties as assigned.
