Practice Details

Sanford Health is seeking a geneticist to serve as the Medical Director for the Imagenetics Initiative. Imagenetics was established in 2014 as a result of a significant gift from philanthropist Denny Sanford. Imagenetics aims to incorporate genetics into primary care.

  • Applicants with a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply, but experience in adult genetics and IM or FM is preferred
  • Minimum qualifications include MD or DO degree, BC in clinical genetics by the ABMG and five years of clinical experience in genetics
  • Administrative/leadership experience strongly preferred
  • This position is a mix of approximately 80% administrative and 20% clinical time (flexible)
  • Applicants must be well versed and have a willingness to deploy pre-emptive genetic testing and other new and innovative genetic programs.
  • The initiative includes clinical genetcicists, a molecular pathologist, moleculer laboratory geneticists, pharmacogenomics pharmacists, NPs and genetic counselors
  • Research and teaching opportunities are available

Compensation Package
