Location: Des Moines, Iowa (local, REGIONAL candidates only)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (onsite 2 days a week-required)

Start details: 7/15/2024

Duration: 6/30/2025

Interviews: Either Web Cam or In Person Interview. (Mon. 6/24, Tue. 6/25-only).

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The candidate will lead the establishment and implementation of a Department-wide data governance program, including policies and processes covering data access and use, data security, metadata management, privacy, and more.

This is a hybrid position where the contractor will be onsite in Des Moines a minimum of 2 days a week.  Only submit local regional candidates.

Required Skills
- Overall IT experience:   Required.  8 yrs. +
- Education:  Bachelors’ degree in education, data science, research, statistics or three years’ experience in research/data management or related fields.  Required.
- Certifications: Certification in project management, (PMP). Highly desired.
- Ability to work with cross-functional groups, coordinate work activities across all levels of staff, and build internal/external relationships. Required. 8 yrs.
- Strong facilitation skills, including familiarity with facilitation techniques, tools, and best practices. Required. 8 yrs.
- Experience working with data governance, policy development, and/or reporting with a history of some formal training (or additional years of experience). Required. 8 yrs.
- Experience using technology/systems for data collection, transformation, storage, and/or compliance. Required. 8 yrs.
- Experience using and communicating about data to technical and non-technical audiences and navigating data quality and/or governance issues. Required. 8 yrs.
- Prior work experience in data governance. Required. 8 yrs.
- Training or mentoring experience. Desired.
- Project management experience.  Highly desired.

Education: 
Bachelor's degree in information Technology or related field or equivalent experience required.
