Under the direction of a project manager, assist with site reconnaissance, staking borings, Texas811 notifications, coordination of drilling activities with owners, and drilling subcontractors. Drive to and from sites - with frequent out of town travel. Provide onsite oversight of geotechnical drilling operations, log borings, preserve samples, order supplies, transport samples to lab. Assist with sample management and laboratory testing for classification, strength and volume change in a laboratory setting: testing includes moisture content, Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, Plasticity Index following ASTM and TxDOT methods. Calculate results and input data into Excel or OpenGround database.
