Description


ISEI Staffing Agency is actively seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to join the team at our client's Primary Care Clinic on the beautiful Big Island. As a member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing appropriate non-surgical primary and continuing care to patients. Collaborate with other staff to deliver comprehensive healthcare services and ensure the well-being of the community.


Clinical Responsibilities:


  • Examine patients, obtain medical histories, and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Involve patients and their families in care and treatment decisions.
  • Consider a thorough range of treatment/preventive options and arrive at a recommended course of action that is age-appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic, and attainable.
  • Appropriately manage patient care and health status following initiation of treatment/preventive plan, monitor, and adjust as warranted.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and family to ensure understanding of their diagnosis, treatment plans, and the need for follow-up care.
  • Educate and encourage patients to become active participants in their healthcare-related behavior and provide patient education materials for use in encouraging wellness.
  • Seek consultation and provide adequate information to consulting physicians.
  • Communicate requests effectively and respond to such requests from the referral source in a professional and timely manner.
  • Delegate direct and indirect patient care activities to appropriate personnel.
  • Supervise midlevel providers, including Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners.
  • Collaborate on the transitioning of patient care from the hospital to the community.
  • Ensure proper patient documentation is timely, accurate, complete, and in compliance with government entities.
  • Participate in the training, orientation, and evaluation of Practice support staff.
  • Work with patient financial services to ensure compliance with billing, coding, and CPT code assignment.
  • Participate in the development of medical services, including protocols, standard procedures, and management of patient-care-related activities.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or ECFMG certification.
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine.
  • Current BLS/HCP certification.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
  • Shall be and remain a member of the medical staff in good standing with appropriate privileges without restriction during the period of employment.
