You will often work in occupied spaces within multi-family communities, where planning, communication, and sensitivity to homeowners impacted by construction activities are essential.
Job Title: Skilled and Semi-Skilled Construction Laborer
Location: San Diego, Orange and Riverside County
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Superintendent
Role and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, and teardown of construction sites.
- Perform basic carpentry tasks such as measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing tasks.
- Help install fixtures, fittings, and other building components.
- Load and unload construction materials from trucks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work alongside skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers to complete tasks.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Assist in the transportation and placement of heavy materials or equipment.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Proficient in lathe and stucco application, rough framing experience.
· Specialized skill such as carpentry, painting, masonry, waterproofing, etc.
· Proven experience as a skilled/semi-skilled construction laborer.
· Proficiency in operating construction equipment and power tools (must have all standard trade tools to perform work).
· Knowledge of construction safety protocols and practices.
· Construction background with a minimum experience of 3 ears working in the California building industry
· Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
· Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
Working Conditions
· The role may involve working outdoors in various weather conditions.
· May require lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
