Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist

Pride Health is hiring a Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist to permanently join and support our client’s Transfusion clinical lab in Charlotte, NC.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an ASCP-registered Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience to join our team. The successful candidate will perform laboratory analysis on received specimens, ensuring clinical information is provided for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. They will be responsible for maintaining overall quality, efficiency, and safety in the performance of assigned technical duties.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory analysis on received specimens.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance guidelines for equipment and work area.
- Prepare reagents and manage inventory effectively.
- Exercise clinical judgment in assessing priorities and offering solutions to test systems.
- Assist with the review and revision of procedures and documentation related to accreditation.
- Maintain clear, real-time communication regarding issues and concerns.
- Participate in planning and implementing change through staff meetings, task forces, or projects.
- Works in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Works in an area containing biohazardous materials and various hazards.
- Duties may involve physical tasks such as standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending, and lifting.
Qualifications:
- MT / MLS (ASCP) or equivalent required.
- Must have team lead or leadership experience.
- Hospital experience required.
- Blood Bank and antibody identification experience required.
Additional Information:
- Location: Charlotte, NC
- Shift: 4x10s-9pm-7:30am (Days vary), must be open to working every 3rd weekend, rotate holidays. *5x8s is an option
- Pay Range: $30.00 to 37.00/hour
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
