We are the Prime Surgery Center, located in Northeast Indianapolis area known as Castleton. We are a new one-year old surgery center. We have 2 operating rooms, 1 procedure room with focus on interventional pain management and spine surgery. Prime Surgery Center is 100% privately physician owned and managed by the surgery center development company, Excellentia Advisory Group.

We are seeking a full time Director of Nursing to oversee the clinical program of the surgery center. Our hours of operation are from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday but currently surgical days are expected to be on some Mondays and Tuesdays and every Friday. Some staff are expected to arrive by 7:30am on surgical days.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a Registered Nurse (RN) license that is in good standing in the State of Indiana.
  • Must have clinical work experience in an ambulatory surgery center setting. Operating Room experience would be desired and experience with pain management and/or spine surgery would be a plus.
  • Must have experience of at least 2 years in managing a clinical staff.
  • Must have had experience with Indiana Department of Health, CMS and accreditation surveys.
  • Must have evidence that you are strong with time management and organizational skills.
  • Adept in use of a computer and quick to learn EMR.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Will manage and oversee the workings of all clinical departments of the surgery center.
  • Will also spend hands-on clinical duties working alongside your clinical staff on those surgery days listed above. Please note: do not apply if you are looking for a 100% administrative desk job.
  • Will be responsible for the hiring and training of new clinical staff and will either assist or act directly in disciplinary actions up to possible terminations.
  • Will oversee all things relating to keeping the surgery center in compliance with the Indiana Department of Health, CMS and our accrediting organization, ACHC.
  • Will manage the surgery center by way of our established Policies and Procedures and Employee Handbook and will be responsible for assisting with suggestions for implementing improvements.
  • Will oversee Medical Records Review.
  • Will be part of and/or delegate appropriately and oversee several committees including but not limited to: the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committee, Peer Review Committee, Risk Management, Infection Prevention, Life Safety Control, and Pharmacy.
  • Will be responsible for keeping all narcotic logs accurate.
  • Will report directly to the management of Excellentia Advisory Group who is part of the Governing Body.

There will be no need to work on Holidays, week-ends, evening nor will there be On-Call responsibilities for patient care. As the Director, you should have the attitude however that you will always be available to your employees for urgent matters.
