POSITION SUMMARY
Laser Shot has an exciting career opportunity for a Waterjet Operator. We are seeking someone that can operate the waterjet machine and be responsible for the production of parts utilizing waterjet cutting machinery. The individual Laser Shot is seeking will need to pull material for waterjet from the layouts and loading on cutting table.
- Responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining waterjet
- Responsible for insuring that work order instructions are followed, the correct materials are loaded, cutting program is installed, setting offsets and machine control adjustments are made to insure maximum material yield and quality of products.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings/specs to produce parts
- Adjust .dxf and cut files if needed within the waterjet software
- Maintain inventory of metal sheet goods
- Replace tubes, nozzles and other components as needed
- Comply with internal quality checks
- Understand mechanics of Waterjet including high-pressured water system, pumps, and motors
- Applicant must be able to solve problems that arise in a manufacturing environment without direct supervision while also performing as part of a team
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of all water jet supporting equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Operate Fork Lift and Overhead Crane to load materials
- Willingness to help in other areas of the fabrication shop
Education and Experience
- Previous water jet machine operating experience and/or schooling
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating similar setup
- Ability to safely lift, load, and unload material from manufacturing equipment
- Have general understanding of basic machine shop equipment and safety
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- General math skills required – ability to read/use calipers
- Grasp instructions quickly
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to operate overhead crane/forklift
- Water Jet: 1 year (Required)
