Job Summary:

The Industrial Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing projects within our food production facility. This role will involve coordinating with various departments to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering, project management, and the food production industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Management:

    • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and maintenance.
    • Ensure all projects adhere to food safety and regulatory standards.
    • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Analyze current production processes to identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement process changes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
    • Utilize lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Equipment and Technology:

    • Evaluate and recommend new equipment and technology to enhance production capabilities.
    • Oversee the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
    • Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards.
  • Budget Management:

    • Prepare and manage project budgets.
    • Track expenses and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
    • Report on budget status and financial performance of projects.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure all projects comply with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety standards and industry regulations.
    • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
    • Prepare regular reports on project status, risks, and outcomes.
    • Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project engineering within the food production industry.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Experience with process improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Skills:

    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    • Proficient in project management software and tools.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent).
  • Experience with automated food production systems.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in a production environment, which may involve exposure to noise, heat, cold, and other industrial conditions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
