Human Resources Generalist - Hospitality (Great team and lots of room for growth)

Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish (this means you need to be able to clearly communicate in both please).

This is a Monday-Friday in-office job in Manassas, VA. 

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Generalist to join our team in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, with a deep understanding of HR practices and a passion for fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding:

    • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
    • Conduct new employee orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local recruitment sources and community organizations.
  • Employee Relations:

    • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and issues, providing guidance and support.
    • Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation as needed.
    • Promote a positive work environment and employee engagement through various programs and initiatives.
  • Compliance and Recordkeeping:

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Training and Development:

    • Identify training needs and coordinate the delivery of training programs.
    • Support employee development through career planning and performance management.
    • Conduct training sessions on HR-related topics as needed.
  • Compensation and Benefits:

    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
    • Assist with salary reviews and compensation planning.
    • Handle payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment of employees.
  • HR Projects and Initiatives:

    • Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR processes and enhancing employee satisfaction.
    • Assist with employee engagement surveys and analyze results to develop action plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal proficiency).
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
