Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Description: Provo area surgery center is seeking a circulating nurse (RN) to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, caring service pertinent to individual needs of surgery patients. This individual will act as patient advocate, providing continuity of care, designed to meet individual patient needs through collaboration with other members of the healthcare team and will assess the pre-operative needs of patients. Responsibilities include preparing rooms, equipment and supplies needed for procedure; opening sterile packs and supplies, using surgeon's preference card for specific requests; conducting preoperative assessment that includes identifying patient, determining plan of care, confirming consent, lab results, operative site and allergies; completing safe surgery checklist; accompanying and caring for patient through each step of the surgical process. Candidates must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Utah and have CPR and ACLS certification. Candidates should be able to stand and/or walk at least five hours per day; lift and/or carry over 25 pounds on a regular basis; and push/pull over 50 pounds on a regular basis. Patient care activities may require the ability to exert force over 50 pounds. - Based on Experience -
