As a leading 3PL brokerage company committed to delivering efficient and innovative logistics solutions, we are in search of a seasoned Controller to join our finance team. The incumbent will be instrumental in driving profitability through effective financial management and adherence to accepted accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

Monthly and Annual Financial Close:

  • Lead the monthly and annual financial close processes to ensure the timely production of accurate financial statements.
  • Review financials, prepare monthly packets, and collaborate with external partners for annual tax filing.

Management and Oversight of Finance Operational Activities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all finance operational activities, including collections, carrier payables, invoicing, and document obtainment.
  • Establish and maintain efficient processes to optimize overall financial operations.

Ownership of Annual Budget Rollout and Creation:

  • Take charge of the annual budgeting process, collaborating closely with department heads to develop precise and realistic financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and manage expense compliance with the budget, overseeing approvals for all payments.

Accountability for Journal Entries and Compliance with GAAP:

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all journal entries, maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.

LMS Accounting Department Oversight:

  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger and cash flow, providing precise and insightful financial reporting.
  • Establish and maintain an efficient and organized accounting department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; CPA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Profound knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
