Job Summary: The Assistant Project Manager will support the Operations Manager and Project Managers in planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to contracts, drawings, and budgets. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Assistant Project Manager will also help define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the definition of project estimates, scope, and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
  • Assist in managing changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects.
  • Assist in measuring project performance, identify and quantify any variances, perform required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including RFP’s, Submittals, RFI’s, Change Orders, Weekly Reports, and invoicing.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Support the Project Manager in day-to-day project activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management or a similar role in the construction industry.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
    • Bluebeam is a plus.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and regulations.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with regular visits to construction sites.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • May require travel to project sites or client meetings.

Physical Demands: Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
