Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. As an Auto Mechanic, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles, ensuring customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic tests on vehicles to identify problems.
Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues
accurately.
Conduct routine maintenance work (e.g., replacing fluids, lubricating parts) to keep
vehicles in optimal condition.
Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g., leaks).
Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
Keep detailed records of all work performed and parts used.
Collaborate with team members to improve processes and efficiency.
Adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
Communicate with employees to understand their concerns and provide
recommendations.
Experienced Requirements:
Proven experience as an auto mechanic.
ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is preferred.
Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles.
Strong understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, specifically in medium-
duty buses and light-duty trucks.
Preferred experience with international brand trucks and buses.
Understanding of the principles of internal combustion engines.
Familiarity with tools, equipment, and materials used in light-duty truck and medium-
duty bus maintenance and repair.
Knowledge of safety provisions and best practices for vehicle maintenance and repair, applicable both in shop and road conditions.
Understanding of codes and laws related to pupil transportation, including DOT inspections.
Must possess a personal set of tools required for the job.
A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement is required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50-100 pounds.
Ability to work in a standing, crouching, or bending position for extended periods.
Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are necessary.
