Job Title: Assistant Service Manager
Department: Virginia Service Department
Location: Ashland, Virginia
Reports To: Service Manager

Job Overview
The Assistant Service Manager is often the first point of contact for customers with service and repair needs and requires a professional with strong customer service and organizational skills. A commitment to excellent customer service, the ability to work with a team, and attention to detail is essential qualities for this position. Job site visits and occasional factory training travel will be required. The primary objective is to continue the high quality of customer service and extend service growth.Our most successful Assistant Service Managers:
  • Possesses a High school diploma / GED equivalent
  • Possesses Mechanical and electrical experience with pumps, motors, air compressors, dryers, and the ability to troubleshoot is required
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams and schematics
  • Operate test/measuring equipment
  • Customer service, communication, and organizational skills are essential
  • Ability to multitask
  • Be able to work under pressure and deadlines
  • Possesses computer skills: MS Office Products including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be able to pass background and reference checks, as well as a drug test
  • Must maintain an active driver’s license with a clean driving record
Scope of responsibility:
  • Office hours are Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
  • The job requires 24-hour on-call coverage as required
  • Assistant Service Manager reports directly to the Service Manager
  • Assistant Service Manager is provided and is responsible for a company service vehicle and tools
  • Handle service/technical calls
  • Schedule and dispatch field technicians
  • Prepares job folders
  • Research parts needed for quotes, repairs, and pm contracts
  • Assists with the re-quoting of pm contracts
  • Assist / oversee shop operations
  • Review and approve department employee’s time sheets
  • Review and determine the processing of “in-work” and completed jobs
  • Assist in identifying and sourcing requested parts for ongoing jobs
  • Assist sales department with technical information and service requests
  • Monitor and arrange technician factory training
  • Setup and help present safety meetings
  • Complete customer safety questionnaires
  • Attend customer and vendor meetings, as required
  • Prepare repair and preventative maintenance proposals, as needed
  • Negotiate customer/vendor billing disputes
  • Assist internal and external customers with questions, concerns, and complaints
  • Any / all duties assigned by management.
  • In addition, other duties & responsibilities as needed to assist in the operation of the
    department
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
