Facility Overview
At Ocean View Psychiatric Health Facility, we are passionate about serving as a community resource to provide the highest quality mental health services. Ocean View is currently a 39-bed voluntary acute in-patient facility for patients 18 years and older, offering private rooms and individualized care using a multi-disciplinary approach focused on compassionate care and best practices. We successfully expanded our facility to include an Outpatient Services Program which includes Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient care. Additionally, we are in the process of growing our Long Beach facility to 80 beds and will be developing to new locations in Southern California soon.
Social Worker Position Overview
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 / Hour
As a Social Worker at Ocean View’s Outpatient Services Program, you will be at the forefront of transforming lives and making a difference in the field of mental health. Incumbent is responsible for delivering exemplary patient care by conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments, formulating interdisciplinary treatment plans, leading 2-3 group therapy sessions per day, and overseeing the discharge and aftercare planning process. Participate in weekly treatment planning for each patient, works cooperatively as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, completes progress notes and discharge plans. Provide invaluable support to patients and their loved ones by employing advanced psychotherapeutic skills to address and resolve intricate challenges arising from psychiatric conditions.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or Doctorate in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field preferably from an accredited university.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Associate, Licensed Marriage Family Therapist or Associate, Psychologist or Registered Psychological Assistant, or other as licensed or certified by the State of California.
- 1+ year(s) of experience working with individuals with a history of mental illness in a social service/mental health environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Evidence Based Practices and/or the Recovery Model of treatment.
- Proficiency in group therapy facilitation to create a supportive and therapeutic environment for clients. Conflict resolution skills to manage and address any interpersonal issues that may arise within the group. Cultural sensitivity and awareness to respect and embrace diversity within the group.
- Ability to critically handle unexpected challenges in a psychiatric setting and create a plausible solution in a team centered environment.
- Ability to speak, read, and write legibly in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current BLS Certification.
- Current MAB certificate.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
