This is a full-time on-site role for a Diesel Instructor in Aurora, IL. Classrooms are manageably sized and a typical work week consists of Monday through Friday instruction and the day ending by 3:30 pm, providing a great work-life balance.

Instructors are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in diesel technology/heavy truck to adult learners. Instructors will be expected to maintain necessary certifications and continue their education as Industry standards evolve and curriculm changes. Typical daily tasks include following lesson plans, conducting classroom and lab hands-on training, assessing student performance, and providing feedback and guidance.

 

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years experience as a Journeyman (or equivalent) Heavy Truck technician.
• Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of T2 through T8 valid ASE certifications
• A minimum of 2 years teaching related subject matter to post secondary students/adult learners
• Possess a clean driving record
• Ideal candidates will possess a valid CDL
• Basic skills using platforms such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, etc.
• Effective presentation skills and the ability to ensure standards and goals are met in a given timeframe are crucial in this role
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively explain complex concepts
• Patience and ability to work with students of varying skill levels
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Organizational and time management skills
• Must be able to adapt to a changing fast paced environment
• Have a professional and positive attutude
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time throughout the day
• Must be able to carry, lift, pull or push a minimum of 50 pounds for short periods of time throughtout the workday
• Must be able to stoop, crouch, kneel, and/or crawl for short periods of time throughout the workday
• Must be able to talk, see, hear, think, concentrate, learn and reason for all of the workday
• Must be able to stand, sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time through out the workday
