We are seeking a direct hire Sr Electromagnetic Engineer (2D/3D EMC FEA, Design, Ansys Maxell) for the Billion Dollar Aerospace  industry leader  in  Cheswick (Pittsburgh) , Pennsylvania.

Designs and analyzes complex electro-mechanical components and systems. Conducts analytical studies and testing on new and modified designs. Serves as leader for small technical teams.

 

 

Develop Direct and Quadrature circuits for electric motors, generators, and exciters. Conduct Direct and Quadrature analysis of motors, generators, and exciters. Perform transient simulation of electric motors, generators, exciters, rectifiers, and controls.

 

Leads technical teams in design and analytical activities for product design, development and production. Mentors less experienced engineers and is involved in development of their skills. Master useful understanding and apply engineering software tools and systems (e.g. Ansys Maxwell, MATLAB, MATHCAD, Altair Flux, etc.)

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

BSEE  required, Masters preferred. PhD a plus

15+ years’ experience in Electrical Engineering with a transient simulation skill set.

Working knowledge of one or more of the following: 2D/3D Electro Magnetic Finite Element Analysis, System Modeling (Mathcad, Matlab, Simulink, Flux2D), Acoustics, Thermal Analysis

Experience in Direct and Quadrature circuit development and analysis of electric motors, generators, and exciters.

Experience in Nuclear design and manufacturing for defense and commercial components (desired)
