Floor Associate

SUMMARY: 

USAM DC is seeking a Floor Associate to assist with shop/suite cleaning and basic maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Empty trash and recycling daily
• Shop and restroom trash
• Dispose of cardboard
• Sweep entire shop floor daily
• Stage all empty carts and pallets in machining area
• Walk property and dispose of debris
• Check dust collection daily and clean if needed
• Check with each shop Supervisor daily to determine additional work
• Other duties and projects as assigned by the Plant Manager

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred Education and Skills (in addition to the required):

• High school diploma or GED
• Background in construction or manufacturing

Required Education and Skills:

• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
• Dependable and hardworking

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a typical warehouse environment and occasionally works on or near the shop floor where there may be moving mechanical parts with occasional exposure to the risk of electrical shock, outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high.
