Personal Injury Litigation Case Manager/Paralegal

Job Description:

Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to help manage active caseload of car wreck, commercial vehicle/large trucking, and catastrophic injury matters. The paralegal will be responsible for maintaining accurate case files, working with staff to meet all court requirements for each case and serving as a reliable advocate for our growing list of clients. Must be experienced in working a case docket from inception of matter to close. Trial experience will be needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strong emphasis on drafting court-ready state and federal motions and filings quickly and with attention to detail. Able to draft requests and responses to discovery; motions, pleadings, demands and correspondence;
  • Order, review, and analyze medical records;
  • Maintain the litigation calendar flawlessly: to include discovery deadlines, hearings, appointments;
  • Perform investigative duties in the search for information on parties involved in incident;
  • Assist in negotiating the price of billing records;
  • Manage relations with medical providers across the area;
  • Maintain daily organization of a high volume docket;
  • Ability to draft requests and responses to discovery; motions, pleadings, demands and correspondence;
  • E-file state and federal pleadings and motions;
  • Document, organize, and prepare a file for trial;
  • Assist clients in a professional manner;
  • Maintain office file system;
  • Ability to scan, fax, and email.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree or higher preferred and/or Paralegal certification;
  • Experience with federal and state e-filing;
  • Experience calculating and calendaring deadlines via interpretation of local state and federal rules;
  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude;
  • Ability to do demand letters, LOR's, LOP's, motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Strong writing, grammar, and spelling skills needed.
  • Experience ordering medical records, accident reports, police reports; setting up expert witnesses;
  • Friendly in the office, and able to handle multiple clients and multi-task;
  • Ability to take direction & take notes when being trained on something new;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Reliable and trustworthy;
  • Respectful and honest ;
  • Able to put out a quality work product every day w/minimal to no errors;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel; Adobe; FileVine; and DropBox.
  • Computer savvy;
  • Must be good at taking initiative;
  • Spanish bilingual – not required, but preferred;

Job Type: Full-time in the office 40 hour work week.
