We are seeking a PRN Infusion RN to join our team
General Accountabilities
- Oversees patient and nursing scheduling.
- Prepares medications and infusions according to doctors’ orders.
- Starts and monitors infusions.
- Adheres to aseptic technique.
- Correctly document time line, vital signs, treatment and medications, to include any side effects or reactions during administration of drug.
- Maintains a safe and quiet environment for the patients.
- Tends to patients comfort and needs during infusions.
- Assist in the expedient turnover of medication administration.
- Serves as a resource person when the need arises.
- Complete charge tickets in EHR with correct dosing.
- Makes follow up infusion appointments.
- Maintains confidentiality of records.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Write procedures for the Infusion area and create a procedure manual for that area.
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited program of Registered Nursing.
- Current State Nursing license required.
- 1 to 2 years previous nursing experience in medical setting and starting infusion line, drawing medications and monitoring infusion patients.
- Must demonstrate competency with basic medical procedures related to nursing.
- Knowledge of rheumatology and treatment options necessary to educate patients and ascertain problems is a plus
- CPR Certified.
Skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in IM, sub-cutaneous and intra-dermal injections.
- All medical skills and knowledge required of a Registered Nurse.
- Able to be friendly, helpful and courteous to patients and on the phone.
- Ability to identify specific parts of the medical record and identify where they should be located in the record.
- Ability to understand and perform duties of position
- Able to complete a complex variety of tasks in an organized manner.
- Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures relating to position.
- Ability to look ahead and plan work schedule accordingly.
- Able to treat patients and staff with consideration and respect.
