We are seeking a Head Housekeeper to join our team You will perform a variety of light cleaning and organizing duties. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of the Housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of guest rooms, hallways, lobby, washrooms, restaurant, offices and all public spaces.
  • Ensures housekeeping staff, including all new hires, know all components of guest service guarantee and are trained to meet service standards.
  • Adheres to hotel policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.
  • Maintains a sufficient inventory and supplies for hotel guests and operations in an organized manner.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and ensures staff follows proper inventory/cost control procedures. Approves invoices confirming amounts and pricing.
  • Uses ongoing safety training to minimize workers’ compensation claims. ƒRecognizes and corrects conditions which may create security, fire or accident hazards.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Clean guest rooms by category priority.
  • Maintains organized workplace to include Lost and Found, guest supplies and inventory
  • Confers and cooperates, in a positive work environment, with other department heads to ensure coordination of hotel activities.
  • Ensure security of any assigned guest room keys, report lost keys immediately.
  • Report any damages or maintenance problems to Guest Services and Supervisor immediately.
  • In stayover rooms, organize guest items in a professional manner, as instructed.
  • Turn over any lost and found items from guest rooms to housekeeping office.
  • Be alert for any illegal or suspicious items in guest rooms.

Guest Service:

  • Provide personalized service to all guests.
  • Assists in maintaining guest service as the driving philosophy of the hotel.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to guest service by responding promptly to guest needs with interest and concern.

Safety and Security:

  • Understands “Right to Know” laws, which apply to housekeeping supplies and chemicals.
  • Recognizes and corrects conditions which may create security, fire or accident hazards.
  • Understands and implements hotel’s control system.
  • Uses ongoing safety training to minimize workers’ compensation claims.

ADA Requirements:

  • Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
  • Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields
  • Familiarity with cleaning materials and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
