The Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center of Denver (JCC) is seeking a responsible, customer-focused and eager individual who enjoys hands-on work for a part-time maintenance technician position at Ranch Camp in Elbert, Colorado. Direct responsibilities will include general care for the Ranch Camp facility, listed in detail below:

Responsibilities

General

  • Daily work order management

  • Monthly preventative maintenance schedule management

  • Checking in with the supervisor as necessary to finalize work orders

  • Annual care of motorized equipment, including small engines and two-stroke engines

  • Work at height on a ladder

  • Painting and general building care

  • Deck building and other simple construction

  • Meet with vendors and coordinate projects as necessary

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Landscaping/Hardscaping

  • Routine mowing operations as needed via push and riding mower

  • Routine weed-whacking operations as needed

  • Basic tractor work, including riding arena dragging and post-storm grading

  • Gutter and sewer drain cleanouts as needed

  • Propane fire pit construction and repair

  • Basic gardening and plant care

 

Electrical & Plumbing

  • Basic electrical work, including outlet and switch repair

  • Basic electrical work, including trailer hitch wiring replacement

  • Basic plumbing, including pipe replacement via ProPress

  • Basic plumbing, including sink replacement and aerator repair

  • Basic plumbing, including routine water heater cleaning

 

Equine Facility Upkeep

  • Riding arena fence repair, including wire fence replacement and posthole digging

  • Arena dragging and grading to maintain safe grounds

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial/residential building maintenance and/or related field.

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Speak fluent English

  • Ability to use a computer for written communication and responses and to track work orders

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree or trade school certification in a related field

  • Prior experience with pool maintenance

  • Familiarity with FreshDesk work order platform

  • CPO Certification

  • CDL license

 

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

May be called to work evening, early morning, weekends/or holidays in support of special functions and events. Tasks are varied and may include working in an inclement environment or weather. This position is physical and requires lifting, sitting, bending, standing, pushing, lying down, and reaching. Must be able to lift 75 pounds periodically. Shoveling and plowing of snow and lawn maintenance may be needed (seasonally). Some tasks may involve strenuous outdoor maintenance activities. Some tasks may involve the use of sharps, harsh chemicals, motor-powered tools/equipment, and other potentially dangerous equipment or tools.

 

Benefits Overview

Seasonal and Part-time employees are not benefits-eligible. Paid Time Off is a day-one benefit accrued based on years of service and in compliance with the Colorado Healthy Families & Workplaces Act.
