Job DescriptionJob Description

As a Residential Construction Framer, your primary responsibility is to construct the skeletal framework of residential buildings. Your work will lay the foundation for the entire construction project, making your role critical in ensuring the quality and safety of the final structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret Blueprints: Study architectural plans and blueprints to understand the layout and dimensions of the structure to be built.
  • Frame Assembly: Measure, cut, and assemble wood, steel, or other materials according to specifications outlined in the blueprints.
  • Installation: Erect walls, floors, and roofs using appropriate tools and techniques such as nailing, bolting, or welding, ensuring they are level, plumb, and square.
  • Structural Integrity: Ensure the structural integrity of the framework by following building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other construction team members, such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, to ensure seamless coordination and progress of the project.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in the construction process, such as misaligned components or insufficient materials.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries on the construction site.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to verify that it meets quality standards and specifications outlined in the blueprints.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean tools and equipment regularly to ensure they are in good working condition and safe to use.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a residential construction framer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in carpentry or construction is a plus.
