Insight Global is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at a high-volume family veterinary practice in Boca Raton, FL. As a veterinary technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients and supporting veterinarians.

 

Employment Type: W2 Contract, expectations are to convert to a direct employee after 9 Months

Location: Boca Raton, FL

Requires flexibility in shifts. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM and Saturday 8AM-12PM.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Veterinarians: Collaborate with veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments. Prepare and maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Patient Care: Handle and restrain animals during procedures. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
  • Laboratory Procedures: Perform diagnostic tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and radiography. Collect and process samples.
  • Client Communication: Educate pet owners on post-operative care, medication administration, and preventive health measures.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files.
  • Surgical Support: Assist during surgical procedures, including anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, and recovery.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to handle emergencies and critical cases.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in treatment areas, exam rooms, and kennels.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other veterinary technicians, kennel staff, and receptionists to provide seamless patient care.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3 years experience as a Vet Technician or Vet Assistant.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and laboratory procedures.
  • Compassion: Genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
  • Adaptability: Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Physical Stamina: Veterinary technicians may need to lift and restrain animals, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.

 

Compensation:

$18/hr to $24/hr.

 

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

 

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
