Position Summary:
The Quality Control Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of construction projects from start to finish. This role involves implementing and monitoring quality control processes, conducting inspections, and ensuring that all work meets the company’s high standards and complies with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction quality management, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with project teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control Program Implementation:
    Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards for all construction projects. Ensure that all project teams adhere to established quality control processes.

  • Inspection and Testing:
    Conduct regular site inspections and tests to ensure that construction work meets the specified quality standards. Identify and address any defects or non-compliance issues promptly.

  • Documentation:
    Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities. Prepare and submit quality control reports to project managers and senior management.

  • Compliance:
    Ensure that all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and company policies. Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards that may impact project quality.

  • Coordination with Project Teams:
    Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure that quality control requirements are clearly understood and implemented throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Problem Resolution:
    Identify and resolve quality-related issues that arise during construction. Work proactively to prevent quality problems and address any issues that could impact project timelines or outcomes.

  • Training and Support:
    Provide training and support to project teams on quality control processes and best practices. Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the company.

  • Vendor and Material Evaluation:
    Evaluate and approve materials, equipment, and subcontractors based on quality criteria. Ensure that all materials and work meet specified quality standards before they are used or installed on-site.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance the quality of construction projects. Share best practices and lessons learned with the wider team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in construction quality control or quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Proficiency in quality control software and tools.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal construction regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Quality Control (e.g., CQM-C from the USACE).
  • Experience with commercial or institutional construction projects.
  • OSHA certification or other relevant safety training.
