We are blessed to be located in the heart of the Treasure Valley, one of the best regions in the world for seed production. Our dry desert climate, with warm days and cool nights, provides near perfect growing conditions for healthy crops to produce high quality seed.

 

Responsibilities

The role of the Field Rep. is to function as the point of contact between the seed company and the farmers in the region who produce with us. It should be a priority to cultivate strong professional relationships with farmers. We want our producers to know that we are as vested in their crop as they are.

 

Before a growing season begins, it will be the responsibility of the Field Rep to contact new and established growers, and reach agreements on price and acreage for crops to be produced. A trained field rep will want to verify with the grower, before signing contracts, that there is a complete plan to produce a crop that will meet the quality standard of the seed company.

 

During the growing season the Field Rep will visit all assigned fields a minimum of once per week, taking notes on the condition of the crop. It will also be important to maintain good communication with the grower, and advise as necessary to help ensure that a quality crop is produced.

 

For the appropriate candidate, there may be an opportunity to cross-train on direct seed sales. This second role would be commission based, and supplement the individuals base salary.
