Overview: We are seeking a Software Developer to work with its Software Development Team to build and maintain software applications for the natural gas industry. The candidate will work with our project team on software design, development, testing, and maintenance; therefore, we are looking for an analytical “go getter” who can jump into our projects and begin producing solutions rapidly.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Development & design of new web application, built in React;
  • Participate in company’s long-term product roadmap to transition product to SaaS;
  • Provide input on the software architecture of new web application;
  • Optimize development practices & uphold best practices for highest quality code;
  • Participate in client implementations, customization of the product for clients;
  • Assist with maintenance of current clients, including bug fixes and enhancements;
  • Support for legacy desktop application in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF);
  • Support for legacy web application in HTML5;
  • Optimize code / cleaning up old code wherever possible;
  • Learning & Utilizing Model View Controller (MVC) to support legacy applications;
  • Reviewing & Analyzing Software Specification Documents;
  • Troubleshooting Software Bugs & Performance Issues;
  • Perform full unit testing prior to delivery to Client Support Team;
  • Work with Client Support Team on any Reissues / Design Discussions;
  • Participating in Daily Scrum Calls with Project Team for Prioritization & Discussion;
  • Working Directly with Clients Occasionally for Troubleshooting or Analysis;
  • Assisting with long-term strategy to migrate application to fully web-based solution.

Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and hands-on experience with designing complex web applications using C#, Razor Pages, MS SQL, React, Angular, Javascript, CSS, or other web development languages. Experience with Object Relational Mapping (ORM) would be valuable as well, as both the React app and the legacy app utilize nHibernate. We are looking for a self-motivated, go-getter personality who wants to make an impact and has a standard of excellence for his / her work. The ideal candidate will be willing to learn and work with existing code that may be out of date with the goal of transitioning all development work to newer technology. The position will be an integral part of the project team and will work closely with a small team of project managers, business analysts, testers, and sometimes the client directly.
